6 tbsp butter (genuine) ( no substitutions)
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour 1 cup chopped pecans
1 1/2 cup of sugar
2/3 gallon of milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups boiling water
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a 9×13 baking dish, melt the butter.
Pecans should be strewn over the butter.
Blend flour, sugar, milk, and vanilla in a mixing bowl; stir to combine but do not overmix.
Do not combine the batter with the pecans and butter!
Brown sugar should be uniformly distributed throughout the batter. DO NOT MIX AGAIN.
Do not stir as you carefully pour the water over the mixture! Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
Cobbler will have a slight slant to it.jiggle. If concerned cook 8 minutes longer. Allow to cool completely just as you would with pecan pie before serving. Enjoy
