Skillet with Cabbage Rolls
An easy ground beef meal recipe that is also healthful, low carb, keto friendly, inexpensive to prepare, and quite tasty!
a list of ingredients
1 pound of ground beef
1 onion, yellow (chopped)
1 pepper (bell) (chopped)
1 tiny cabbage head (cored & chopped)
1 can chopped tomatoes (14 oz)
2 tsp Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning
2 tsp powdered garlic
smoked paprika, 2 tsp
1 teaspoon of black pepper
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the meat. If there is more than a few teaspoons of fat, remove it (a little extra fat is ok).
Cook for 3-4 minutes after adding the chopped onion and bell pepper.
Add the cabbage, diced tomatoes, and salt & pepper to taste.all seasoning to the pan with the ground beef. Cover with a lid and cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do a taste test and season with additional salt or seasoning, if needed. Sprinkle the cheese over top and cover again until the cheese is melted. Enjoy alone or with rice! Recipe Notes If you don’t have Tony Chachere’s, you’re missing out. I use this seasoning for just about everything including avocado toast, scrambled eggs, pasta, and more. But if you don’t have it on hand, no worries! Just be sure to replace it with some salt and other seasonings of your choice. Time Saving Tip: You can buy pre-diced onion and bell pepper in the produce section of most grocery stores.
