Introduction:
Cajun shrimp and steak Alfredo pasta is a decadent and flavorful dish that combines tender steak and succulent shrimp with a creamy Cajun-spiced Alfredo sauce. This dish is perfect for a special occasion dinner or anytime you’re craving a comforting and satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
- 8 ounces steak (such as sirloin or ribeye), thinly sliced
- 8 ounces large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water, and set aside.
- Season the Steak and Shrimp:
- In a bowl, season the thinly sliced steak and peeled shrimp with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper, tossing to coat evenly.
- Cook the Steak and Shrimp:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak slices and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Transfer the cooked steak to a plate and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through. Transfer the cooked shrimp to the plate with the steak.
- Make the Alfredo Sauce:
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce begins to thicken slightly.
- Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, you can thin it out with a little of the reserved pasta water.
- Combine the Ingredients:
- Add the cooked pasta, cooked steak slices, and cooked shrimp to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss everything together until well coated in the sauce and heated through.
- Serve:
- Divide the Cajun shrimp and steak Alfredo pasta among serving plates. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and serve hot.
