Comfort Food Shepherd’s Pie

Comfort Food Shepherd’s Pie

Ingredients
1 1/2 to 2 pounds of ground beef
Prepared At least 6 servings of mashed potatoes (In this recipe, I occasionally use instant potatoes, but you may also use regular potatoes.)
a couple of handfuls of shredded cheddar
1 frozen corn bag
1 bag peas and carrots frozen combination (optional)

Make your mashed potatoes first.
Season the ground beef with salt and pepper before browning it.
Ground beef should be drained.
In a baking dish, place the ground beef (you can use a smaller or larger baking dish depending on how thick you want it) I utilized the 9X12 in this instance.
I use an 8X8 most of the time.
Add a handful of shredded cheddar cheese to the heated ground beef (to help it stay together

together)

If you’re using peas and carrots, layer them on top.
Then, on top of that, the corn. Now, spread on your mashed potatoes.
More shredded cheddar cheese on top

Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 30-40 minutes.
I turn on the broiler at the very end to slightly brown the cheese. *** DO NOT STEP AWAY FROM THE OVEN IF YOU TURN ON THE BROILER, IT ONLY TAKES A COUPLE OF MINUTES TO BROWN. BURNING IT IS NOT AN OPTION.
