What Is The Best Way To Make Crispy Fried Fish With Spices?
Crispy-fried-fish with spices is a delicious, spicy, tangy, and crispy fish fry that works well as a dinner side dish or appetizer. Before being cooked in oil till crisp, these fish fillets are topped with a freshly blended spice paste and masala. This dish is really easy to make.
The fish fillets are marinated in spices and oil before being coated in cornflour and fried till crispy in this quick fish fry recipe. When the fish is marinated, it absorbs the flavors of the seasonings better, and when deep-fried, it becomes crispy and crusty.
It can be served as an attractive appetizer with a fresh vegetable salad or onion rings. It goes well with plain rice and a vegetable salad as a side dish. This fried fish meal is easy to make with only a few ingredients and takes about 15 minutes to prepare and 5 to 8 minutes to cook.
Depending on your preference, this easy-to-make dish can be grilled, shallow-fried, or pan-fried.
THE FOLLOWING INGREDIENTS ARE REQUIRED:
A large spoon.Of Salt
1 large spoon.Of Turmeric Powder.
1/2 large spoon.Of Lemon Juice.
1 large spoon.Of Freshly blended spice mix.
1 large spoon.Of Chilli Powder.
1/2 large spoon.Of Coriander Powder.
1/2 large spoon.Of Cumin Powder.
5 large spoons.Of mustard oil.
First, you need to properly clean the fish fillets under running water. Gently dab the fish fillets with tissue paper or a kitchen towel to remove any excess moisture.
Secondly, transfer the fillets to a mixing bowl and season with salt, turmeric powder, and 12 tablespoons lemon juice. Massage it all over the fish to ensure that it is well covered. Cover it with plastic wrap and set it aside for 5 minutes.
Now, let’s get to work on putting together the spice blend for the marination. Take a large spoon of freshly blended spice paste (you can also use simple ginger garlic paste), 1 large spoon of chili powder, half a spoon of garam masala, quarter a spoon of turmeric powder, salt to taste, half a spoon of coriander powder, half a spoon of cumin powder, half a spoon of mustard oil, and 3 large spoons Of cornflour to make the spice mix. Pour the mixture into a medium bowl, and combine all the ingredients together.
At this step, you need to use the spice mixture on the fish fillets, smearing it in completely. If necessary, add 1 tablespoon of water to ensure that the mixture is applied evenly. Set it aside for 15 minutes at a time. Allow the taste to permeate the fish.
Now, heat a pan with 3 to 4 tbsp oil over medium heat. As soon as the oil is hot, drop in the coated fish and cook for 2 minutes, or until the fish is golden brown.
Gently turn the fish to prevent breaking it, and let it finish cooking on the second side as well as the first.
Once it has been fried on all sides, remove it from the kadhai and put it on a piece of tissue paper or a kitchen towel to absorb any remaining oil.
Serve it hot with chopped onion and lemon wedges on the side. It may be served as an appetizer or as part of a meal, depending on your preference.
